My meeting with Mika !

Publié le par Jodie

So two weeks ago, on Sunday, I had the chance to go to Mika's gig in Toulouse (in the South of France) and I actually met him (sort of) !!! It was the best day of my life and I needed to write an article about it ! So let's do it !

Mika is my favorite singer, and as you may
know, he's doing his Heaven Tour since September,  which features songs from his last    album, No Place in Heaven.

Now, let me tell you what happened when I went to see him. My parents, who were coming with me, and I arrived in the early afternoon. We waited about 6 hours outside, with the rest of the queue. It was very cold that day but I saw a few friends and I met really nice people, so that was cool !

We entered the Bikini, where the gig was going to take place, around 8pm.We all ran to the concert hall. I was just in front of the mike ! The opening act of the show was assured by a band named Citizens, including four English boys. They were really talented but I just couldn't wait for Mika ! Unfortunately, when they left, we HAD to wait. And the waiting was TOO long. I was thinking it was taking years when Mika finally arrived !

It was like he wasn't real. Seeing him, just in front of me, was soooo strange. I couldn't believe that I was watching him for real. Not through a phone or a computer screen, but for real. And he was so amazing ! You really have to see Mika in live to understand what it's like. It's nothing like when you see him on Youtube videos, it's... I can't even find appropriate words. It was my first gig and there was a crazy atmosphere ! We were all singing and jumping and Mika was KILLING IT. He was talking to us sometimes, telling us jokes or some anecdotes. He sang : No Place in Heaven, Talk About You, Lollipop, Big Girl You Are Beautiful, Happy Ending (and the acapella ending was so beautiful **), Elle Me Dit, Love Today, Good Wife, Staring At The Sun, The Origin of Love, Underwater, Grace Kelly, Relax (Take it Easy), Good Guys, Boum Boum Boum, Last Party and J'ai Pas Envie.

When it was over, it was like waking up from a dream. We got out, wondering if Mika was going to do an autograph session. Some of us waited for him. Some security guards told us that he already left so we didn't know what to do but I had the feeling that they were lying. A lot of us left. Then, we saw Melaki and Amira, Mika's dogs, running in the parking, and a few minutes later, a tall man wearing a hat got in a car. We recognised him.

The driver slowed down in front of us and Mika waved his hand. I thought he was going to leave, but then the car stopped and we ran towards him. He signed some albums and tickets. He couldn't talk because of his voice but he was smiling at everyone, he was so nice ! When he signed my album, I thanked him and he smiled at me !! And I touched his hand while recovering my album !!! Oh and after that, well, I died.

I will never forget that day, that was one of the best experiences that I have ever had ! Mika is not only a super talented singer and musician, he's also reeeeaaaally nice with his fans, which I think is very important for an artist. He's an amazing human being and I'm glad I got to meet him ! One of my dreams came true **

Here are some photos I took during the concert (I'm sorry for the quality, it isn't great but...) :
